ActionAssist: Increase your annotation productivity

We're excited to introduce our latest feature aimed at boosting annotator productivity: ActionAssist. This feature provides suggestions for annotating different geometries more efficiently. It helps users navigate the best annotation practices in Kognic, while enabling projects to scale their annotation workforce faster without the need for lengthy training courses.

Here's how it works:
  • When you draw a box around an object, you'll see a list of recommended actions that can help you annotate faster.
  • Blue markers on the video bar indicate where you should go next in the sequence.
  • "Go to next and apply" (accessible via Shift + Spacebar) automatically moves to the next recommended frame and executes all suggested actions.

You can minimize the recommendation window if you find it distracting, and reopen it by clicking on the next frame recommendation.

Key benefits:
  • Accelerates the annotation process significantly
  • Offers smart suggestions for object refinement
  • Provides a streamlined workflow with convenient keyboard shortcuts
  • Simplifies navigation through complex sequences

If the box is too small as you navigate between frames, you can use "Unify Size" to ensure consistent dimensions. This will take the box size in the current frame and apply it to all frames where the object is visible. We recommend using this tool to make the adjustment process more efficient, especially for static objects or when you want to maintain consistent dimensions for dynamic objects.

To use "Unify Size" effectively:
  • Find the frame where the cuboid is most visible (has the most points) by clicking on "Find best frame"
  • Apply "Unify Size"
  • The size will be applied to all frames where the object appears

These improvements aim to enhance your annotation experience, making it faster and more intuitive. Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to refine our tools based on user feedback.
